Spring is in full bloom here at Hartland Cottage Farm & we have so much to catch you up on!
First, a very sweet bundle made her debut late November, just in time for the holidays! Ellie is already 6months old and I cannot believe how quickly time has gone. I soaked up every ounce of maternity leave corporate Kate was offered. Which has a lot to do with why it's been so quite around here lately.
Another reason for the silence is I've been doing a lot of discerning. Was I going to keep the virtual store front and blog, was I going to focus more on the farm, was I going back to corporate America after leave was over. Should we sell one of our properties? Are we bringing in a new team member to the insurance business. Everyone that knows us, knows we tend to do everything all at once, all the time. This season has been no different, except I've tried to spend some time being intentional, discerning where life is headed & if that's where God wants it to be going.
Some of these questions have been answered and some are still in the process. I did decide to merge the Farm brand and the virtual storefront brand into one. It's a big leap as one was very much homestead and the other very much catholic. But it allows me to share content and spend less time planning for two spaces, as we are growing the Hartland Cottage Farm brand. So here we are a new business name, Hartland Cottage Co!

I am sure you are all dying to know what's been happening on the Cottage Farm Side of things! Spring was busy to say the least with so many new additions, mostly babies! Daisy, our Nigerian Dwarf yearling had her very FIRST freshing! We had hoped to breed her with Cookie Dough, the Fabio of Nigerians. Unfortunately, after months of unsuccessful breeding we switched him out for Oreo. Oreo made it happen and we planned to try Cookie again next go round. Sadly, we unexpectedly lost Cookie late this winter. So the new additions and babies galore were a much welcomed site after a winter of loss.
Let's do a quick roll call! Clockwise from left to right: Jimmy, the roster; Harrison Ford, the pet; Channing (not pictured Tatum), meat pigs; Em, with a borrowed bunny; the 4 Peking's, none of whom have names; a bitty quail; and Hawk; with one of the Peking's.
But I know what you are really, baby GOATS!! Crackers and Metallica. Before you ask, no, I wasn't home when they were born. Yes, my daughter and husband names them. I'll let you guess which one named whom.

Daisy is a gorgeous Nigerian and has proven to be an amazing mom! Two black and white bucklings, that look so much like Oreo. Crackers, laying down, was born first and was the larger of the boys. Metallica, white tail, was a bitty little runt but has almost caught up with his slightly older brother! I was so sad I missed their arrival but Em was out there with Hank the whole time! She was a fabulous goat doula & I think she is the coolest kid. I am still so thankful for this life we are able to offer them, for the experiences, knowledge, and fun!
