A Modern Cabin Bathroom with Soul

Designing this bathroom for a client’s Airbnb cabin was all about balance — pairing the comfort of a cozy mountain stay with the fresh, uplifting feel of modern design. The goal: create a space that feels instantly relaxing, while still memorable enough to stand out in a guest’s travel experience.

The centerpiece of the room is the striped shower wall, where alternating blue and white tiles create height, rhythm, and visual movement. The vertical layout draws the eye upward, while the soft, hand-glazed finish keeps it organic and serene. It’s a modern take on classic cabin character — crisp yet inviting.

The fluted wood vanity grounds the space with warmth and texture, a perfect counterpoint to the cool tones of the tile. Brass hardware and an arched mirror add understated elegance, reflecting light and softening the clean lines of the room.

Above it all, the sculptural glass light fixture — shaped like flower petals — acts as both jewelry and art. Its delicate transparency diffuses light beautifully, creating a gentle glow that enhances the spa-like atmosphere.

Touches of mustard and navy in the towels and accents layer in color without overwhelming the space. The built-in shower niche, styled with sleek black apothecary bottles, adds both function and visual rhythm within the striped tile pattern.

The result is a bathroom that feels fresh, refined, and restorative — everything a guest could want after a long day exploring the mountains. It’s proof that even the smallest spaces can make a lasting impression when design and intention work hand in hand.
