Our family is growing! We have officially started the adoption process. First and foremost, we ask for your prayers, support, guidance and love. It truly takes a village. Stay tuned for updates throughout this journey and additional ways to take part in this experience with us!

Adoption has been on our minds & hearts for a little over 3 years now, but we know that for many of our family and friends this is one of the first time they are hearing about our journey!
So we wanted to do a little Q&A sesh to bring you all up to speed!
Why did we decide to adopt?
Em is our little miracle. A few years ago we found out that conceiving naturally would be extremely difficult, having said that we have always hoped for a large family. After lots of prayer and dicernment, we decided that adoption was the right path for us to grow. We feel we have an infinite capacity for love and that Em will be a great big sister! She is almost 2 and we are ready to bring our baby home.
What does adoption mean to us?
Adoption, is one of the greatest love stories you can enter into. The magnitude of raising a child that his or her birth mother entrusted to our care is not lost on us.
Who are we adopting through?
We are doing our Homestudy through Catholic Charities in Nashville. We will also keep a profile on file will catholic Charities for the birth mothers working with them. We are still deciding what additional agencies we will place our profile with, if you have suggestions through your own adoption process please share them!
How long is the process?
The discernment process is hopefully going to be the longest part, so it feels like we are more than half way through! We have already done our initial information interview and submitted our application along with our references. The Homestudy process will be 6 to 8 weeks long, beginning in late September 2020. Once the Homestudy is complete it can be as short as a few months or a long as a few years before we are matched with our baby.
What type of adoption did we choose?
There are many different ways that you can grow your family through adoption. We choose domestic infant adoption. This decision was based on Em's age and wanting to allow her to always be the oldest in the family. Domestic being from within the US and infant meaning that the birth mother created an adoption plan, as opposed to adopting from the foster care system.
We hope that one day once Em & our future child are older we can explore the foster to adopt option as well.
How can you support us?
We are so glad you asked! Prayers are the most appreciated ways to support us.
If you would like share in this journey, here is the link to a t-shirt fundraiser we are doing! A little about the t-shirt design, we believe that raising children takes a village and adoption is no different. Verso l'alto means "to the heights" and was the favorite phrase of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati who has a special meaning to us during this time.
We are also planning a big yard sale, so if you have anything you would like to donate for the yard sale we would love to take it off your hands!
The cost of our adoption is going to be at minimum 22k and we have made lots of decisions on how best to prepare our family for this & also a 4th member. That being said, we would be so appreciative of our family and friends supporting us in the journey! The t-shirt is a fun way to be a part of our village!
If you have any addition questions we would love to answer them for you! Please, let us know!
